Sunday mornings at The Anchor Bible Church include:
Expository Preaching of the Word of God to Equip the Saints for Gospel Ministry
Our effort is to preach and teach faithfully with boldness and confidence in the Word of God, believing it is sufficient for all the needs of the human soul.
Second Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
Singing that Exalts God and Strengthens the Soul
We sing with instruments for His glory and our good.
Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the Word of Christ dwell richly within you, with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
Ministry to Children that Teaches them to Love Christ and His Church
We saturate these efforts in prayer, trusting that the Lord will be honored and pleased to sanctify us to minister to others for the purpose of His glory, with His gospel.
While most of our members are worshiping God by hearing and singing His Word, others are teaching it to our children, training them to love God and people.
Jesus said in Mark 10:14, "Let the children come to me." Deuteronomy 6:7 says, "You shall teach [the words He has commanded] diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." Our children are the church of the next generation.
So, we gather for teaching, singing and training children to do the same, all for God's glory.
